About Us

Green Bay Area Mom was started in 2016 by Ruth Fameree.  She saw similar sites in Milwaukee and Madison and thought, "This is what the Green Bay Area needs."  She connected with City Mom Collective for support and found contributors to help her with blog posts.

Due to family health issues, Ruth needed to step away in 2018.  Amanda Lawnizak took over ownership.  In 2021, Jennifer Birschbach became Co-Owner. 

​

Jen joined GBAM from the start as a contributor.  She quickly realized that she enjoyed planning events more than writing, so she became GBAM's Event Coordinator. When GBAM started, she knew that this was what she was looking for when her kids were small.  Now she strives to support parents of all ages.

 

Karina, our amazing Social Media Manager, joined our Executive Team after attending our Bloom event and seeing all the amazing things GBAM does for the community.

After moving to Green Bay from Chicago, Christine joined our Executive Team as our Sales Director.  She used GBAM to know more about the Green Bay Area and connect with things to do.

​

Amanda stepped away from GBAM in 2023, which left Jen as the sole owner.
