Last summer, my family and I were driving home from our vacation when we decided to make a stop at Lakeside Park in Fond du Lac for a picnic and to help break up the long drive home. My family recently had the opportunity to visit The Wilderness Resort, and we were thrilled. February can feel like the longest month of the year (even though it’s the shortest), and it was a delight to visit at the start of the Polar Vortex.

When my son was 18 months old, I realized I was going to be going on a 15-hour road trip with him, solo. At the time, we were moving 1000 miles from our home in New Jersey to Green Bay, Wisconsin.

My husband and I recently enjoyed a three-day getaway to an all-inclusive resort in Jamaica, alone. Since neither of us had traveled to an all-inclusive resort, we decided to take a trip in February and enjoy a few days of sun, alone time, and tasty food.

So, now that we have an infant, my love for travel has not changed one bit.  What HAS changed?  My perspective & expectations!

Taking a long weekend girls’ trip has become our annual tradition. This year, there were 10 of us—mothers, daughters, cousins, friends. Everywhere we went, people asked where we were from. (Austin’s a super friendly city, y’all!)
