Last summer, my family and I were driving home from our vacation when we decided to make a stop at Lakeside Park in Fond du Lac for a picnic and to help break up the long drive home. I had heard the views of Lake Winnebago at Lakeside Park were beautiful, but what I didn’t know was what an amazing park it is for children!

Sometimes, the perfect getaway is right in your own backyard. With dozens of parks and beaches, Door County is the perfect destination for a family visit this upcoming summer.

To list our house as a vacation rental, we had to empty closets and cabinets of 16+ years of clothes, toys, games, and other accumulated possessions. I assumed that getting rid of our personal things would be emotionally difficult for this sappy mom, but decluttering actually got easier as we went along.

My family recently had the opportunity to visit The Wilderness Resort, and we were thrilled. February can feel like the longest month of the year (even though it’s the shortest), and it was a delight to visit at the start of the Polar Vortex.

When my son was 18 months old, I realized I was going to be going on a 15-hour road trip with him, solo. At the time, we were moving 1000 miles from our home in New Jersey to Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Many women answer “No” to this question.  Well, let me share a little something… I bought “THE SUIT” and I am obsessed.  So much that I immediately ordered a second one!

My husband and I recently enjoyed a three-day getaway to an all-inclusive resort in Jamaica, alone. Since neither of us had traveled to an all-inclusive resort, we decided to take a trip in February and enjoy a few days of sun, alone time, and tasty food.

So, now that we have an infant, my love for travel has not changed one bit.  What HAS changed?  My perspective & expectations!

Taking a long weekend girls’ trip has become our annual tradition. This year, there were 10 of us—mothers, daughters, cousins, friends. Everywhere we went, people asked where we were from. (Austin’s a super friendly city, y’all!)

However, having a newborn baby can definitely make these next few weeks during the holidays a bit more…challenging to manage. Especially if you are new to breastfeeding.
