Unfortunately, cancer has touched so many of our lives, and as many of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. For the past eight years, when I would start to see the pink cancer ribbons come out, I cringed. It reminded me of my mother’s fight. It brought back memories of those fearful days. It scared me that it would come back.

When I toured her daycare facility, I grilled the director, I brainstormed with her teachers, and vigorously highlighted the menu showing them exactly what she can eat. I know they are prepared for her.

Currently, I am on a weight loss journey with my best friend, my husband, Kevin. We have been married for 18 years and have been through many ups and downs in our marriage, including the ups and downs of our weight.
