I’m tired. If you’re a parent, then I’m guessing you are too. This parenting thing is exhausting.

Whether you have two or seven, anything more than one child makes all the sound parenting advice from well-meaning grocery store ladies seem downright comical.

As soon as she complimented me, I thanked her, but had to be honest with her.  I mean, it wasn’t the truth.  I’m not ALWAYS put together, calm, and composed.

Yes, I said it. I could have negotiated and had better results without having to yell. Something I’ve been working on in my Mom Skills Box is doing more negotiating with my crew, so I can yell at them less. 

Mother’s Day is almost here. It’s always one of those holidays that can be so anticipated, yet we know the day will generally not go as we expect or hope.

Spring is here, and sports are starting. Teach your child what it means to be part of a team. Show them what sportsmanship looks like. Don’t be “That Guy”! Remember why they are playing and what they are really playing for.

Being a SAHM is NOT easy. You are always on. There’s no drive home to wind down or doors to lock up when you leave the office.

Whether you live near your friends or not, text messages can become a regular way to communicate our quick thoughts, especially our parenting successes and failures.

Moms across the country and around the world can agree: Mornings are rough. And until technology allows us to teleport our kids to class, those of us who drive are going to have to deal with the headaches of the school drop-off lane.

My husband and I are making a conscious effort to share the mental load. It’s not easy. I am by nature a planner, and my husband is not.
