One of my closest mom friends shared an article that talked about the residents of northern Norway, who, one would assume, would have high rates of seasonal depression. Despite not seeing the sun from late November through January, the residents of these northern communities embrace winter and view it as a celebration, not a drudgery.

Although I love holiday shows as much as the rest, I am trying my best to change up our activities and add in some creativity.   Here are 2 of my favorite winter crafts to keep kids busy when it’s cold!

We had the opportunity to join a field trip group to visit Earthaven Museum, which filled their cups full with fantastic rock-collecting fun.

We decided to take a Door County day trip, checking out the amazing parks, such as Whitefish Dunes State Park and Cave Point County Park, then driving around the peninsula.
